The FCT Education Secretariat Management Team recently rolled out the drums to celebrate the immediate past Secretary for Education, Hon. Sani Dahir El-Katuzu for being a great leader of repute with visionary leadership skills. Speaking during the brief event, the FCTA Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olusade Asesola represented by former Director Human Resource Management, Dr. Muhammed Bashir, said good leaders are celebrated wherever they go and Hon. Sani Dahir El-Katuzu service towards the development of Education in FCT and the Administration cannot be undermined.
He said his positive contributions and presentations during Exco meetings had been very impactful and wished him success in his future endeavour.

In his brief remarks, the Acting Secretary for Education/Director of Administration and Finance, Education Secretariat, Malam Leremoh Abdulrasaq said the former Secretary for Education had been an exceptional leader who inspired everyone to aim for the best in the education sector, adding that he is a man blessed with patience to listen and accommodate all views.
Others who spoke at the occasion include, Hajia Neemat Abdulrahim, Director, Education Resource Centre (ERC), Dr. Sani Ladan, Director, FCT Secondary Education Board (SEB), Alh. Alhassan Sule, Ag. Chairman/Secretary, Universal Basic Education Board (UBEB), Mr Kolawole Olobashola, Director, Department of Science, Technology and Innovation (DSTI), Mr Joseph Abunike, Director, Department of Policy, Planning, Research & Statistics (DPPRS) all acknowledged the positive contributions of the former Secretary to the education sector.

Responding, the celebrant, Hon. Sani Dahir El-Katuzu, who was the ninth and immediate past Secretary for Education said he was pleasantly surprised that after he had left the service of the FCT Administration as a political appointee, he could still be celebrated.
He said he believed so much in working as a team wherever he finds himself and that the way to achieve your own success is to be willing to work and help people you meet along the line of duty. He stressed the need for everyone to ensure that education matters were not toyed with, urging everyone to contribute their quota to the development of education.

He thanked the FCT Administration, particularly the Education Secretariat Management Team for the opportunity to serve in his own little way, adding that the honour done to him was heart-warming with great memories ahead.
The highlight of the colourful event was presentation of Photo Album of activities embarked upon from the beginning to the end of his tenure.
